Some of those who have taken classes have expressed interest in having a more protracted “lab time”—an opportunity to spend more extended time reading texts together. In response, we’ve added what we’re calling an Exploration.
In an Exploration, we set aside time each week to travel through a particular book of the Bible. Each week we will simply pick up where we left off the previous week; we’ll journey together, going at the pace set by those in the group, exploring as much as we can during the summer months.
An Exploration is a fresh approach to Bible study. We’ll be focusing on reading the text itself and discussing it together. We won’t be trying to “get through the material” but to get the text into our minds and hearts. We’ll be learning together as we spend time in a reading “lab.” Because of the approach we take, although an Exploration might seem to be another small group Bible study, you’ll find that it’s more than a little different.
We are working our way through the book of Genesis. Each week, we will, as a group, take another step. Because of the current state of things, the class will be meeting on line, from 9 until 10:30 am each Tuesday.
Although you might not be free every scheduled meeting time, that shouldn’t keep you from participating. If you’d like to join us, please text Brian at brianonken55@gmail.com to be added to the mailing list–you’ll get the weekly “nudges” about where we will be in Genesis.
