The Restoration of Peter

OB Hospitalist Group

After the resurrection, Jesus met up with His followers. He presented Himself alive. He commissioned them to witness what they know. But Peter ended up going fishing.

When Jesus meets Peter (and some of the other disciples) at the sea while he was fishing, the Lord has a conversation with him (John 21). Some see it as Jesus trying to help Peter “undo” his earlier denial, giving Peter a chance to make up for where he messed up. But that’s very inconsistent with how Jesus deals with His disciples (and with us). So what is going on?

In this one-evening “intensive” we’ll practice reading a Gospel narrative as we unpack the exchange between Peter and Jesus. And what will this mean for us? We’ll discover some insight into why Peter (and we) sometimes step away from opportunities Jesus gives us to join Him in what He is doing . . . and what Jesus’ solution is for Peter (and for us).

This class will meet on Tuesday, July 25, at 6:30 pm at the offices of OB Hospitalist Group. Although the course is free, we’d ask you to register so that we can plan accordingly.
