We face difficulties. We are confronted with challenges. Things don’t always turn out as we had hoped. And we can end up feeling far from God, feeling overwhelmed. We shouldn’t pretend we don’t feel such things. But how should we respond?
The psalmist wasn’t unfamiliar with those feelings. The “laments” in the book of Psalms reflect the cries of the heart when a friend of God is facing hardships, sorrows, discouragement.
Over two Tuesday evenings, August 15 and 22, we will explore a number of the laments, seeking to understand how the psalmist connects with God when he is facing such feelings . . . and we’ll look at how the Laments can help us draw near to God when we are facing difficulties and sorrow.
This free class will meet, each evening, at OB Hospitalist Group offices beginning at 6:30 pm. Although the class is free, we ask you to register so we can plan appropriately.Register Now
