Close to two-thirds of the Bible consists of the Old Testament. The books that make up the Old Testament were the Bible Jesus turned to and in which the early Church rooted their thinking. And yet for many friends and followers of Jesus, there are vast expanses of the Old Testament that are unfamiliar territory. How could you begin to become more familiar with the Bible Jesus knew?
This survey course hosted by The River provides basic background helpful in understanding each book of the Old Testament, but the real focus of this class is on introducing you to the “flavor” and message of each book. Come enhance your familiarity with the Old Testament, discover how these books might encourage you in your joy in Jesus, and have your appetite stirred for the treasure that awaits you in the Old Testament.
This course meets for six consecutive Thursday evenings, beginning March 7, meeting from 6:30 until 8:30 pm each evening.
Although there is no charge for this class, we ask you to register so that we can plan accordingly.
